Ned Horner is currently the assistant principal violist for the Springfield (MO) Symphony. He also plays in the viola section of the Fort Smith (AR) Symphony and is the concertmaster of the Ozark Festival Orchestra. Ned has a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Missouri State University and a Master of Music in violin and viola performance from DePaul University in Chicago. While living in Chicago, Ned played violin with the Chicago Civic Orchestra (the Chicago Symphony's training orchestra) and got the opportunity to play under many of the world's most illustrious conductors. Ned also has a Master of Music degree in orchestra conductiong from the University of Missouri in Columbia. In 2014, Ned taught himself to play rhythm guitar so that he could play bluegrass music with his dad. He currently plays mandolin, fiddle and sings tenor with a band called the Grass Pickers.
